Good Habits for Your 40s

I would recommend that you exercise at least 2-3 times a week, but if that’s too much, even doing so once a weekend is good enough. But that’s really on the lowest, most basic end of what you should be doing, and you should be striving for more. even if you exercise for a shorter amount each day, it’s best to be active daily instead of one major time once a week.  Beyond helping you stay in shape, cardiovascular exercise in particular will help to keep your parents2heart in good shape, prevent the onset of heart disease and ensure that you keep your mind healthy. If you’re worried about jogging or running, try jump-rope. It’s easy, less stressful on your knees and joints and is still really effective. You can also try yoga, which is a bit less intensive some ways but will still work your body hard. – You should definitely be drinking at least one juice blend or smoothie a day at this age. This is the best way to ensure that you get all the vitamins, nutrients and minerals you need to stay healthy and stay in shape without putting on the extra pounds or disrupting your diet too much. It’s an easy, yummy way to stay on top of your health game. – Cut back on the holidays and expensive restaurant meals. Unless you’re comfortably earning a pretty big salary and have a retirement policy in place already, you should be thinking about your retirement every day.

What happens once you can no longer earn a viable income? It’s never too soon to plan, but by your 40’s you should really be on the right path. You should be sure to have at least 10% of your income every month towards your retirement – this way you won’t feel the shock of suddenly being left out in the cold when you’re most vulnerable. – If you’re able to, your 40s are the best period for you to finally start your own business or work from home – granted that you have the financial old bodybuildercapability to do so and the skills to pull it off. While running your own business isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, if you’ve ever had the dream of being your own boss, I would say mid to late 40s are your cutoff period. It’s still enough time to grow and develop while still seeing success, while also combining all of the experience that you’ve accumulated. Yet any later than that is very hard to start with. And lastly, your 40’s should be about prioritizing family time. Make sure to have family dinners, family game nights, and to take your kids to school. You’ll never get these moments back, so cherish them while you can. When you one day look back on all of your accomplishments and successes, your family should be at the forefront. Plus, they’ll always be there for you, especially when you need it the most.
